To start this project, I whipped out a piece a white fun foam that had an adhesive back. I peeled off the adhesive backing cover and stuck white card stock to the foam. Then I made a quick collage on the paper with paint and ink/stamping.
Next, I trimmed down my collage to fit on top of Neat and Tangled's Punchinella die. Then I ran the foam-backed collage through the Sizzix Big Shot with the Punchinella die. Since this was foam and cardstock, I ran it back and forth about four times.
Here's how it looked when it came out of the Sizzix:
Next I got to working on my background. I used a sheet of 6x6 paper from Elizabeth Craft called Through the Lens: Wood. I smeared white and turquoise paint onto it so that my collage would blend in better.
When this dried, I flipped over my foam collage and punched out random dots and started arranging them on my background.
After I got the dots and the main part of the punched collage how I liked it, I had to go back and glue everything down. Monotony Factor to glue all those individual dots down? About a 6. Here's how it was looking after I glued everything in place:
I thought I'd be done at this point (and maybe I should've been?), but being the layer addict that I am, I thought it needed another layer. So I cut a circle out of corrugated cardboard, painted it white and pink, outlined it with black Sharpie pen and laid it on the center. I ended up flipping the background card upside down before I glued the circle on top. I also added some Tim Holtz stickers for the sentiment and wa-lah! Done!
Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
So how will you add texture this week? I have so much fun going through your entries and can't wait to see what you come up with. Be sure to upload your goodies to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.
